Almost the Worst I've Ever Seen

Posted by: John in Untagged  on

John

I think Terrible is a good word to describe the Redskins tonight.  Head Coach.  Offense.  Defense.  Special Teams.  Terrible.

This goes down as the third worst game I've ever seen, right after (2) the game against the Patriots in 2007, and (1) Superbowl 18.  Bruce Allen must be rethinking his decision to be the new GM...or much more likely preparing his CUT! list.  Hopefully Zorn is at the top.  What the hell was that 'trick' play at the end of the first half?  Is he just trying to run all of the gadget plays he drew up before he loses his job and any chance of calling plays again?

Anyway, it wasn't one play or one bad call that lost this game, it was shitty from start to finish for the Washington Redskins.  And this with Haynesworth and Hall both back from injuries.  I'm glad Allen the GM got to see our superb Vinny-Built O-Line in all of its glory.  And our linebackers.  Can't stuff the run, can't cover the edge.  Orakpo never pressured the QB because he was being used as a Linebacker most of the game - he didn't get 11 sacks covering Kevin Boss and Jeremy Shockey. Anyone else get the feeling players gave up early last night?  Man, so many CUTS!!!...

So much for the new dawn in Redskinsland.  Podcast #196 tomorrow.  Hail.

Miss 'Em Suisham Re-signs With Dallass

In the immortal words of Josh, "I called it."

Once the Redskins finally ended their inexplicably long affair with Shaun Suisham, it was only a matter of time before his true blue colors showed.  Literally.

Comcast Sportsnet is reporting that that Little Prick Cowboy Spy has signed with the Cowboys, who cut their own shitty kicker, Nick Folk.  This would be his second go-around with Dallass, for those who haven't listened to any of our podcasts.  I'm not saying he missed those two field goals this year at Texas Stadium on purpose, I'm just sayin'.....

On the upside, with Vinny CUT!!!, the new dawn of the Washington Redskins has begun, and I can't wait to see Miss 'Em Suisham kick off to the 17 yard line and be a non-factor in D.C. on the 27th.

Sneaky Freaking Jerry Jones, I knew it.  He probably had Vinny on his payroll as well...

HTTR.

You Know The Deal...Get PUUUUUMPED!!!

Alright, Dudes - the future is now with all the goings-on as of late:

New Kicker.

New G.M., hell, A REAL G.M.!

And tonight we get to show the National Television Audience what the Much Better Than Game 1 Against the Gnats Redskins are made of.

We all know that the Redskins have played like absolute dog poo poo in night games for pretty much the entire Snyder tenure.  That ends tonight.  The Young Guns are playing well, J.C. is playing very well, Orakpo is getting serious attention at Rookie of the Year, Portis isn't dragging down the running game anymore, and the O-Line is doing it's best job of the season right now.  This team not only beat an Oakland squad that they should've beat, but they beat them by multiple scores, which is exactly what should've happened.  That's the first time  that the 2009 Redskins have played exactly like they should, and I think that is VERY encouraging.

It sucks that it's going to help Dallass in their playoff hunt, but we're taking care of our business (and we'll deal with them on the 27th).  Washington should, and will, win tonight.  At Home.  On Monday Night.

Hail.

Vinny exits in fit of rage...

Josh

Well, not exactly a fit of rage....but, longtime Redskins Exec VP and friend of The Danny stepped down this morning.  Wooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Now before you get too excited, Redskins Fans, let's find out who his replacement is going to be.

Here is the official statement released by the Redskins today:

"We agreed that the franchise needs someone different in this position," Cerrato said. "I'm thankful to Dan Snyder and other members of his ownership team for the opportunities I've been given over the years. Of course, I am disappointed with this year's results, but I strongly believe that with outstanding draft picks and encouraging performance by our younger players, we have laid a strong foundation for the franchise."

Gee, thanks for those kind thoughts, Vin - now don't let the door hit you on the way out!!  Cerrato also said that he "had the pleasure of working with some great coaches such as Joe Gibbs, Greg Blache and Sherman Lewis" - Notice who he left out?  Yep, the Zornster.

Could this make room for coach Shanahan or some other tried and true coach who would take over all of football operations?  If you guys remember, when the Marty was brought in as coach, he fired the Vinny.  The Danny then rehired the Vinnie  after firing the Marty. Fun stuff.  Something tells me the Vinny might always be lurking somewhere around Redskins park, waiting to be called back up by the Danny.

Sure, he "stepped down of his own accord," but someone had to start saving face.  Could it be that this is only the first Act to 5-part miniseries, supremely orchestrated deep within the bowels of Redskins Park?  Nah... that would mean conspiracy theories and the like, and none of that stuff ever goes on in DC. Like, ever.

So, time will tell the tale. I've got the popcorn ready and trailers have all played out.  Lower the lights and lets sit back and watch.
