See you at 4:05 RST (that's Redskins Standard Time).

It's Gameday - Revenge of Superbowl 18 is On My Mind

Yeah Dudes, don't forget that we have a vendetta against these guys from their brief stint in L.A.

Yo yo yo, what's uuuuuuuup?

Coming off of a really tough loss, followed by a great roster move in the CUT!!!ing of Ex-Dallass Cowboy Shaun "Miss 'Em" Suisham, I'm feeling pretty good going into Oakland today.  Granted, they have one of the best Cornerbacks in the game in Nnamdi Asomugh, so that will probably keep Santana Moss under wraps, but Devin Thomas in feeling it right now.  He's not going to whoop up every game from here until the end of the year, but Dude is going to be getting it done for a while in the Burgundy and Gold - you can see it in his face - this Dude gets it.  With one year under his belt as a starter with Michigan State, he needed time to round into Pro Form (as we said last year), and he's about there.  And with Moss locked up, they can't double team Thomas, Davis, and Randle El/Kelly/Mitchell.  We should be able to wreck havoc on the Raiders today, no doubt.

Notes:

Quin-Ton GAN-ther has earnd the start over Rock Cartwright at Running Back.  Rock is not happy, but let's see what happens here.  Rock has almost never been lethal when knowing he's starting in advance, only when he's suddenly The Man (Yes, he was The Man as the Named Starter once, but usually he hasn't been).  The Raiders Run Defense isn't all that, if I remember correctly, and Rock is tough, but he's not Barry Sanders.   Give Quinton the ball!  He has made more happen at RB in spot duty this year than we've had happen there for a couple of years now.

Both Hall and Haynesworth are out again.  I'm not against a Dude trying to get healthy for next year at this stage of the season, but is Hall really this injured?    Carlos Rogers CAN'T be out best CB going into a game - that's like saying Darrel Pounds is heading up our Secondary - it's game over already! Aaron is hopeful that Justin Tryon plays - we need him!

Seriously, over $60 million dollars (guaranteed)  is tied up in two players that aren't playing again this weekend.  I almost hope they keep Haynesworth on the bench to keep him healthy for the NFC matchups next year - we need him NOW, not early in the season, and not against Carolina, or Kansas City.  We need him against Dallass, Philly, and New York.  We all knew he hasn't played a full season as a starter EVER, so let's keep him healthy for the BIG games, perhaps the...PHAT games!  He's such a difference maker, at this stage of his career, can't he figure out a healthier way to live?  I know, I've said that there isn't a DL that has the impact he's had.  It'd be great if he would be able to do that next year, ALL year, but otherwise our Defensive Backs and Safeties (#30) have GOT to stop getting burnt deep.  I'm just wishing at this point, maybe I should just concentrate on one win at a time at this juncture.

Norvel Turner may be looking to revenge again, but it's time to turn the tables - J.C. should be able to pick the Oakland Defense apart with the second and third receivers, and Ganther should be able to pound it - the O-Line is the best it's been all season (seriously - think about it).  There's no excuse to lose this weekend, the Oakland Raiders are not as good as the Washington Redskins, period.   Our O-Line has tightened up, our D-Line is good enough to get by Gallery and Co. on the crappy O-Line of the Silver and Black, even without Phat Albert, and after  Asomugh, they really don't have anyone in the secondary who can answer the call.  They have good Linebackers, though, so hopefully the Playcalling Triumvirate won't pussy out and call a bunch of runs at the end of the game when a 70/30 balance of pass/run has given them the lead in the 4th quarter - not that THAT has ever happened (other than last week).

Oh yeah, and Gano, the new kicker - Dude better not suck, or Gano's gonna be in deep Guano.  Kick 'em Straight!

HAIL!  Beat the Raiders!!!!!!

Shaun Suisham...(everybody now)...CUUUUUUT!!!

Damn, it felt good to say that!

After losing yet another game for the Washington Redskins, Kicker Shaun "Miss 'Em" Suisham was finally CUT!!! today.  Long-Time members of Harry Hog Nation may remember that, despite praising him for his surprising early season success this year, we've been calling for his release for over a year and a half.  I literally can't believe it - the management made a wise decision and CUT!!! that Ex-DallASS Cowboy once and for all.

I'm so pumped.

Imagine #6 in this picture.  Yes, I hate him more than Carlos Rogers.

I really don't have anything else to say about him except...CUUUUT!!!!!

Bye Bye.

In other news, Clinton Portis was finally placed on Injured Reserve due to not wanting to play the rest of the year...um...I mean...his concussion.  We seriously don't fault any player for sitting because of brain injuries.  However, it's been obvious since day one this preseason that:

1.) Clinton Portis was past his prime, and

2.) Clinton Portis did not want to play this year.  At least not in Washington.

Again, we've been calling for it for some time, and hopefully this is that last time that we see the $50 MILLION dollar man in a Redskins uniform.  I said from day one, I'd take back Champ Bailey and that second round draft pick in a heartbeat, except for that I never would've made the deal in the first place.

Bye Bye.

Back to Suisham.  He's been replaced by Graham Gano, a rookie from Florida State.  Both Aaron and I have seen him in UFL games this season, and he's been solid.  Aaron was particularly impressed with the fact that Gano can actually kick the ball into the end zone on a kickoff, which would be a completely foreign concept to any Redskins fans that just joined the Burgundy and Gold Fold in the last couple of years.  He was 14-16 for the Las Vegas Locos (short for 'Locomotives') in the inaugural year of the UFL, and he kicked the game winner in the UFL championship game.

What I’m saying is, he made a field goal under pressure, unlike Shaun “Miss ‘Em” Suisham.  ‘Nuff said.

I think Freaking #6 cost us at least 7 games in his career.  But that's what Vinnie gets for signing an Ex-Cowboy as our Kicker...what the F do you expect, dumbass???

Calming Down...Breathing...

I'm so pumped about both of these extremely late roster changes.  The fact that we've been calling for Suisham to be...ah yeah...CUUUUUUUUT!!!!!!...and for Clinton to be gone since last year just shows how far ahead of the curve we are, and how idiotic The Danny and Vinnie are in regards to building a winning team.  But that's old news.  All I know is, at least as far as the roster is concerned, times are a-changin' in Washington, and I think that they are a-changin' for the better.

Note the color of his uniform in this picture.  That ain't Burgundy.

HAIL YEAH. BYE BYE SUISHAM!  This is the best news we've had all year!

CUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!

#6, #30, #17 Throw It Away

Ex-Cowboy Shaun Suisham strikes again. Why is this guy on the team still?

For the third week in a row, the Redskins played a strong game, perhaps the strongest of the year, but they fell apart late, gave up big plays, lost their pass-happy guts in the fourth quarter and ran puss running plays, and missed a chip shot to win the game.  The Redskins held a 10 point lead late against the still-undefeated Saints, but crumbled like a sand castle and gave the Saints their 11th victory of the season.

Kicks:

#6 - Shaun Suisham (ex-DallASS Cowboy) misses a clutch Field Goal AGAIN.  We've been calling it since last season - he's not reliable, he needs to go.  And he's a former Cowboy - he had a good streak going for the first time in his career - it figures he's showing his true colors now, when the team as a whole is playing it's best football.

#30 - the Dirty Thirty LaRon Landry had lots of great hits, but gave up two touchdowns in coverage.  That's a 14 point swing.  Gregg Williams was saving that second one the whole game - he's knows Landry's game like the back of his hand.

#17 - How many times in the last three seasons has Jason Campbell had the ball late, with time outs, and throw a pick while targeting an outside receiver?  I think about 10 times (and twice against DallASS two years ago).  You can't rely on him to lead your team to victory in the11th hour - that pick sealed it for me.  I was a HUGE J.C. "Big Smooooth" fan from the beginning.  I'm now ready to move on - yeah, he threw three touchdowns, but those late game picks are a staple of the Jason Campbell game tape and have been since he's been starting.  Dude can't come up clutch, he can't lead the game-winning drive, he's done as far as I'm concerned.  Question is, who can you put in for next year?  You screwed up and put Colt Brennan on IR for a 4 week injury.  Who's the next Quarterback?  It sure as hell isn't Jason Campbell.

#45 - Just like in Cincinnati, he fumbles at a critical time.

Games:

#11 - Like this was a question mark.  Dude had the game of his career - 2 touchdowns,  100 yards receiving, 159 yards on kick returns.  Played out of his mind.

Looked like his TD from '08 on the reverse.  Dude's got a future...

#86 - 5 for 53 yards, a touchdown, just needs to learn to catch passes that are thrown above his head - this is becoming a big problem.

#17 - I know, I'm putting this in for those still on the sinking ship.  J.C. went 30 for 42, 367 yards, 3 TDs...and 1 pick.  It's those late picks that have killed us so many times that have me permanently off the bandwagon.  But I know Josh will bitch if I don't talk about his positives today.

The Redskins still Caboose the league in Takeaways with 8 - and they had that one stripped away for a touchdown at the end of the first half.  We can't catch a break to save our lives.  I just think ahead to when all of these young players are winning Superbowls and they think back to those "Character Building" years of 2008 and 2009 when they battled through all the tough times and couldn't catch a break.  That's the mindset that keeps me positive.  Barely.

Oh yeah, and once again, Clinton Portis...CUT!

Hail to the All Weather Fans.  Keep the Faith, Brothahs.

When the 'Aints Comes Marching In

It cost the Redskisn $1 million dollars to NOT make Gregg Williams the Head Coach after Gibbs left.  How's that working out for ya now, Vinny?

I just heard on ESPN that Vinny Cerrato went off on Zorn after last week's game, blaming him for the bad clock management and losing effort.  Dudes, we all know Zorn is a crummy Head Coach and that he can't manage a game - this is old news.  Vinny's bitch-fest was just another round of The Danny, Vinny, and Co., Inc., trying to get Jim Zorn to quit so they won't have to pay him the final $9 million dollars of his contract.  I say, hang on Zorn.  You may suck as a Head Coach, but I'm totally rooting for you to stick it to Dan Snyder on this one.

In other news:

-Phat Albert Haynesworth is back from his ankle injury and is active.

-Big Ass Mike Williams is back from his ankle injury and is starting at Right Guard.

-Both DeAngelo Hall and Justin Tryon are inactive today.  Aaron was hopeful that he could debut his authentic #20 Justin Tryon jersey today.  On a more serious note, who the hell is playing Corner?  Smoot, Rogers (yikes), Barnes...???

-Chris Cooley has offered to let Tiger Woods stay at his house for the holidays.  However, he would have to share a room with Todd Yoder.  He did offer to buy bunk beds if that would help sway the wayward golf icon.

I'm confident that the Redskins won't be awful today...and that's about it.  Crazier things have happened - that's why they actually play the game.

Hail To The Redskins!
