Yeah Dudes, don't forget that we have a vendetta against these guys from their brief stint in L.A.
Yo yo yo, what's uuuuuuuup?
Coming off of a really tough loss, followed by a great roster move in the CUT!!!ing of Ex-Dallass Cowboy Shaun "Miss 'Em" Suisham, I'm feeling pretty good going into Oakland today. Granted, they have one of the best Cornerbacks in the game in Nnamdi Asomugh, so that will probably keep Santana Moss under wraps, but Devin Thomas in feeling it right now. He's not going to whoop up every game from here until the end of the year, but Dude is going to be getting it done for a while in the Burgundy and Gold - you can see it in his face - this Dude gets it. With one year under his belt as a starter with Michigan State, he needed time to round into Pro Form (as we said last year), and he's about there. And with Moss locked up, they can't double team Thomas, Davis, and Randle El/Kelly/Mitchell. We should be able to wreck havoc on the Raiders today, no doubt.
Notes:
Quin-Ton GAN-ther has earnd the start over Rock Cartwright at Running Back. Rock is not happy, but let's see what happens here. Rock has almost never been lethal when knowing he's starting in advance, only when he's suddenly The Man (Yes, he was The Man as the Named Starter once, but usually he hasn't been). The Raiders Run Defense isn't all that, if I remember correctly, and Rock is tough, but he's not Barry Sanders. Give Quinton the ball! He has made more happen at RB in spot duty this year than we've had happen there for a couple of years now.
Both Hall and Haynesworth are out again. I'm not against a Dude trying to get healthy for next year at this stage of the season, but is Hall really this injured? Carlos Rogers CAN'T be out best CB going into a game - that's like saying Darrel Pounds is heading up our Secondary - it's game over already! Aaron is hopeful that Justin Tryon plays - we need him!
Seriously, over $60 million dollars (guaranteed) is tied up in two players that aren't playing again this weekend. I almost hope they keep Haynesworth on the bench to keep him healthy for the NFC matchups next year - we need him NOW, not early in the season, and not against Carolina, or Kansas City. We need him against Dallass, Philly, and New York. We all knew he hasn't played a full season as a starter EVER, so let's keep him healthy for the BIG games, perhaps the...PHAT games! He's such a difference maker, at this stage of his career, can't he figure out a healthier way to live? I know, I've said that there isn't a DL that has the impact he's had. It'd be great if he would be able to do that next year, ALL year, but otherwise our Defensive Backs and Safeties (#30) have GOT to stop getting burnt deep. I'm just wishing at this point, maybe I should just concentrate on one win at a time at this juncture.
Norvel Turner may be looking to revenge again, but it's time to turn the tables - J.C. should be able to pick the Oakland Defense apart with the second and third receivers, and Ganther should be able to pound it - the O-Line is the best it's been all season (seriously - think about it). There's no excuse to lose this weekend, the Oakland Raiders are not as good as the Washington Redskins, period. Our O-Line has tightened up, our D-Line is good enough to get by Gallery and Co. on the crappy O-Line of the Silver and Black, even without Phat Albert, and after Asomugh, they really don't have anyone in the secondary who can answer the call. They have good Linebackers, though, so hopefully the Playcalling Triumvirate won't pussy out and call a bunch of runs at the end of the game when a 70/30 balance of pass/run has given them the lead in the 4th quarter - not that THAT has ever happened (other than last week).
Oh yeah, and Gano, the new kicker - Dude better not suck, or Gano's gonna be in deep Guano. Kick 'em Straight!
HAIL! Beat the Raiders!!!!!!
