A win by the 'Skins of our chinny-chin chins...

You know, a friend of ours once said: "It's hard to look cool, when you're kicking your own ass." And to this (and on this) very day, I continue to use this statement - as it is appropriate on oh-so-many occasions. Today is most certainly one of those.
The Redskins have seemingly become very good at at least one thing this season. In case you haven't noticed, that one thing is giving. And, while in most circles, the gift of giving is a selfless act, in football it is just the opposite. Giving away yardage... no big deal, right? Whether it is by lack of defense, or a gift wrapped up in bright shiny penalty paper, giving feels good - right???!
Of course it does! And once you give away a few yards, you wanna give away touchdowns! Yeah, AWESOME! This feels great! I love giving!
Hey, I know guys... how about lets give away a few games!!! Doesn't that just sound Kick-A!??! Hey wait a minute... should we just give away the whole season, too! Sure. Why the heck not?... And on it goes.
The Redskins DID NOT win today - and I think they know this. The gave a lot. They tried some, and they gave a lot away. The Redskins simply got lucky today. God just happend to be smiling down on Washington when the big digital clock hit zero. Call it what you will - put a W in the column, sure. But it was not a WIN by any sense of the word. Perhaps today's W should stand for:
- We got lucky.
- We gotta pratice harder.
- We gotta play harder.
- We don't deserve this.
Perhaps what it simply means is:
- Washington will be playing an undefeated team next weekend...and We've got lots of Work to do.
- WHEW!
On to the Pats... Let's hope this week is a productive one... Because, it's hard to look cool when you are playing like the Redskins did this week.
Hail! -Josh

Steve Czaben on his national show aired a clip of callers from the local show after the game, and they all wanted Gibbs' head on a platter. Most are blaming the Skins inepitute (sic) on him. And I think time has passed him by. I mean its okay for me to say we're underdogs, but unless you're really trying to give the Pats a false since of security - do you really want to say that as head coach?
I doubt we'll win, but remember when the 4-9 Washington Redskins of 2006 went into the Superdome after two humilating losses at home? They upset the Saints, but the Pats are more like Indy and while we're not THAT team from last year -- our offense looks like it at times.
Just remember the Pats don't usually lay the slap down until the 4th Quarter -- and when to the Skins choke - the 4th Quarter. I'll admit that if we actually can play, and Gibbs and the WRs allow Campbell to play like his hero -- then it'll force Belechek and his goons to go for our juggler early and maybe it'll be enough for us to hold a win.
Personally, I'd get ready for the Jets because this game is a foregone conclusion. We need to worry about teams that we might be able to beat -- (Eagles, Jets, Bills) We can't beat Dallas at their home, and we always choke to Tampa Bay.

But this is seems to be a constant thing now, where we dominate the 1st half, and get killed in the 2nd. Maybe if we lose by a lot this week, some of the ego's will drop, and we'll play hard till the end.
